Nail Polish Shades for Wedding Day

5 Non-Boring Wedding-Day Nail Polish Shades

OK, I get it: Baby pink polish is soft, feminine, and discreet. But why
must it be a mandatory requirement for wedding-day nails? Why not
break with tradition and go for a little color? After all, it's not like your
tiny nails will take attention away from your wedding dress, right?

Mary Alice Stephenson, style advisor for Sally Hansen agrees.
"Going beyond basic light pink is a fun and flirty way a bride can
express her personality," she says. "A splash of color adds an
element of the unexpected to an otherwise traditional look."

Stephenson weighed in on the top five nail polish colors this season
-- all of which would be perfect options for your most important mani.
And even if you do wimp out and go for the safe pink shade, you could still try one of these for your honeymoon.

Denim Blue
This is the perfect "something blue" for an offbeat bride, says
Stephenson. Wearing a blue hue on your nails is definitely bold,
so if you'd rather stick with a more subtle color for your fingers,
try it on your toes. To get the look: Try Dior Vernis Long wearing
Nail Lacquer in #607 Blue Denim, $21.

Greenish Gold
If you're always wearing the latest trends, your wedding day
should be no exception. Metallic polish in shades like green
and gold is uber trendy this season, so naturally, a bride with
high style will want to wear it. To get the look: Try Chanel Le
Vernis Nail Colour in #531 Peridot, $25.

Soft Lavender
Light lilac tips are a modern alternative to pale pink,
says Stephenson. This is a great option for girls who want to
break the rules, but only a little bit. It's feminine and subtle
yet with a twist. To get the look: Try Essie nail polish in Nice
is Nice, $8.

Retro Red
Classic crimson is ideal for brides drawn to all things vintage.
Sexy and sophisticated, red nail polish is the must-have accessory
for an Old Hollywood-inspired style. To get the look:
Try Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Nail Polish in All
Fired Up, $6.99.

Candy Pink
Nothing is flirtier than bubblegum pink nails. A pop of this girly hue
adds color to your look in a pretty way that's not cheesy. To get the
look: Try Nails Inc Nail Polish in Brompton Place, $9.50.

Would you wear any of these daring shades on your wedding day?
Or are you sticking with a more classic look?
